In connection with the information being disseminated regarding the allegedly mandatory replacement of test site IDs and the creation of a "new database of victims of the Semipalatinsk nuclear test site," we inform you of the following.
To date, no amendments have been made to the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan "On the Social Protection of Citizens Affected by Nuclear Tests at the Semipalatinsk Nuclear Test Site."
Test site IDs of the previously established format remain valid. Legislation does not provide for mandatory ID replacement or mandatory re-registration of citizens.
However, in order to digitalize government services and display the status of a victim in the eGov Mobile mobile app, citizens may, if desired, provide the necessary documents for entry into the information systems of government agencies.
This work is being carried out solely to digitally display information and simplify the receipt of government services electronically. The creation of any "new database" to replace the existing government registry is not being undertaken.
We ask citizens to trust only official information from government agencies and not to disseminate false information that causes unfounded anxiety among the public, especially among older citizens.
We remind you that, in accordance with the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan, disseminating knowingly false information is punishable by law, including under Article 274 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
If citizens have any questions, they can contact the authorized social protection authorities at their place of residence for official clarification.
