Cooperation in Agricultural Science is Expanding

Brasilia, May 27, 2026 - At the invitation of the leadership of the Brazilian National Corporation Embrapa, the Ambassador of Kazakhstan, Bolat Nussupov, took part in the official ceremony marking the 20th anniversary of the corporation’s “Agroenergia” division.
During the event, Bolat Nussupov held meetings with the corporation’s Chief Executive Officer, Alexandre Alves Alonso, and Director of International Affairs, Maurício Lopes.
The parties discussed opportunities for the joint development of scientific and innovative solutions for sustainable agriculture, livestock farming, and food security. Interest was also expressed in cooperation on the implementation in Kazakhstan of low-carbon farming systems, the restoration of degraded pastures, and the development of biological pest control. In this context, the Brazilian side confirmed its readiness to continue cooperation with the National Agrarian Scientific and Educational Center of Kazakhstan (NASEC) and to sign a corresponding Memorandum of Cooperation on issues of mutual interest.
For reference: Embrapa is a state-owned agricultural research company under the Ministry of Agriculture of Brazil, established in 1973. It played a key role in transforming Brazil from a food importer into one of the world’s largest and most efficient exporters of agricultural products. Its network includes 46 decentralized research centers covering virtually all of the country’s biomes and a wide range of agricultural sectors.
