Prague, 6 June 2026 – Kazakhstan was represented at the Festival of Embassies, an annual event held in the Czech capital which has become one of Prague’s most prominent international cultural and culinary events.

This year’s festival brought together representatives from more than 60 countries. They introduced Czech officials, members of the diplomatic corps, and thousands of Prague residents and visitors to their musical and cultural traditions, elements of intangible heritage, and national cuisines.

The Kazakh stand highlighted the country’s distinctive culture and warm hospitality. The centrepiece of the display was a traditional Kazakh yurt, which drew considerable interest from visitors. Its traditional interior, national decorative elements and symbolism reflected the yurt’s significance as an important part of nomadic civilisation and the cultural heritage of the Kazakh people.

With the support of the Prague-based Alma-Ata store, guests and friends of Kazakhstan were offered traditional Kazakh dishes, baursaks, and other treats. This provided visitors with an opportunity to experience Kazakh hospitality and the distinctive atmosphere of the traditional dastarkhan.

As part of the cultural programme, alongside performances by representatives of various countries, Abylaikhan Kanagat, a student from Kazakhstan, performed traditional kui pieces on the dombra. He presented works by renowned composers while highlighting the distinctive sound of one of the oldest musical instruments of the Turkic world.

The participation of the Embassy of Kazakhstan in the festival provided another opportunity to present the country’s rich cultural heritage and traditions to the Czech and international public.
