On International Children's Day, a traditional meeting of the akim (governor) of the East Kazakhstan Region with gifted schoolchildren of the region was held, organized by the region's education department.

The event was dedicated to summarizing the results of the 2025–2026 academic year and honoring students who achieved high results in studies, creativity, and sports.

In the current academic year, schoolchildren of the East Kazakhstan Region successfully participated in international and national olympiads, competitions, and sports events, winning 171 medals, including 37 gold, 46 silver, and 88 bronze.

Based on the results of the national olympiad in general education subjects, the region's team in the natural sciences and mathematics direction was awarded the nomination "Best Olympiad Team – 2026" and entered the top three strongest teams in the country. The team from rural schools in the region was recognized as the best in social sciences and humanities subjects and awarded a third-degree diploma.

During the meeting, the akim of the region congratulated the schoolchildren on their achievements and wished them new victories. All participants of the event were presented with letters of appreciation and monetary certificates.

Support for talented youth remains one of the important areas for the development of the region's education system.
