Today, on International Children's Day, regional Akim Murat Ergeshbayev, deputies of the Senate and Mazhilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan Ruslan Rustemov, Marhabat Zhaiymbetov, representatives of the intelligentsia, and elders took part in the opening ceremony of the Botanical Garden, built with the support of the Head of State.
The Botanical Garden, gifted to children on this festive day, is located on the territory of the Presidential Park. The general contractor is Alem Qurylys AQ LLP. 4.9 billion tenge was allocated for its construction, and the foundation of the facility was laid in September of last year on the initiative of the then head of the region, Nurlybek Nalibayev.
At the opening ceremony, regional Akim Murat Nalkhozhaevich congratulated the children on the holiday and noted that the work of the Botanical Garden is aimed at organizing useful leisure for the younger generation and implementing new projects.
"I sincerely congratulate everyone on June 1st – the holiday of International Children's Day! A child is our main wealth. Raising an educated, healthy, patriotic generation is our common task.
Our President Kassym-Jomart Kemelevich said: 'Creating conditions for the comprehensive, intellectual growth of our sons and daughters, protecting the rights and preserving the health of our young citizens is the main duty of our state.'
The Botanical Garden opened today on the territory of the Presidential Park is a concrete and fruitful manifestation of this large-scale initiative in our region. Green plantings growing in China, South Africa, Japan, South and Central America have been planted on the garden's territory. Thus, the importance of plants in the ecosystem is explained to the younger generation. This is not just a park for children to walk in, but a multifunctional complex combining nature and science, forming an ecological culture. Our children will communicate with nature here, see a real example of environmental responsibility and hard work. I believe that future scientists, biologists, and agronomists will emerge from this garden, who will study the ecology not only of our region but of the entire country",- said Murat Nalhozhavich. At the ceremony, congratulatory speeches were delivered by Ruslan Rustemov and Marhabat Zhaiymbetov. Teachers who made a significant contribution to the development of the education sector and employees of the contracting organization who completed the construction of the new facility on time were awarded Letters of Appreciation from the regional Akim.
The Botanical Garden is a modern multifunctional complex aimed at developing environmental awareness, tourism, and creating new public spaces. In two greenhouses with a total area of 1500 square meters, more than 3300 plants of 92 different species from all corners of the world, such as Africa, South America, Australia, Japan, China, and Madagascar, have been planted. Here you can find the fan palm, Canary Island date palm, cacti and aloe, Washingtonia palm, strelitzia, jacaranda, giant yucca, kapok tree, bamboo, ornamental plants, and fishtail palm. When these plants bloom, they emit fragrance and are colored in various shades: pinkish-yellow, blue, purple.
To create favorable conditions for the plants, the complex is equipped with modern engineering systems for automatic climate control, irrigation, and water treatment.
The Botanical Garden is not only a place where unique plant species grow but also a location that will become a center of attraction for residents and guests of the region, serving the development of ecological culture, education, and domestic tourism.
All conditions have been created here to broaden the horizons of students, schoolchildren, and nature lovers. The special atmosphere of the Botanical Garden gives visitors a sense of coziness.
It is worth noting that with the support of the Head of State, 46 modern educational facilities have been commissioned in Kyzylorda over the past four years.
Within the framework of the national project "Schools of the Future," 10 new schools have been built. The "Bilim-Innovatsiya" lyceum-boarding school with a physics and mathematics focus, a new academic building, and a dormitory for the music college have been commissioned. The "Palace of Schoolchildren," the "Syr Zhuldızdary" academy, "Houses of Schoolchildren," and "Schools of Arts" in the Zhalagash, Zhanakorgan, and Shieli districts serve to unlock the creative and intellectual potential of youth. Recently, the year-round educational and health center "AI-KERIM" became the property of children.
