A round table discussion titled “Life in Kazakhstan during the Years of Repression” was held at the Bastaushy Rural Library to mark May 31st, the Day of Remembrance of the Victims of Political Repressions. The event was attended by N. Zhanuzak, a history teacher from the Abai Secondary School, along with students.

The goal of the event was to explain the consequences of the political repressions and the famine (Asharshylyk) to the students, introduce them to the lives and legacies of historical figures, expand the historical awareness of the younger generation, and foster patriotism.

During the round table, students explored historical facts and shared information about the victims of the political repressions. An exchange of views was organized regarding the role of the Alash movement figures in the country's history and their dedicated work for the people. Furthermore, the students actively shared their thoughts and showed great engagement with the topic.

In conclusion, the importance of remembering the past, understanding the value of independence, and respecting national values was emphasized to the students.
