Madrid, 28 May 2026 – The Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to Spain, Danat Mussayev, held talks with the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food of the Kingdom of Spain Luis Planas.

During the meeting, the Ambassador highlighted Kazakhstan’s significant agricultural resources, steady growth in agricultural exports, and its advantageous geographic location, which provides access to the markets of Central Asia, China, and the Eurasian Economic Union.

In this context, he emphasized the strong potential for cooperation between the two countries in livestock production, agricultural processing, and the introduction of modern agricultural technologies.

For his part, the Minister reaffirmed Spain’s readiness to further deepen cooperation with Kazakhstan, including the development of contacts between relevant government agencies, research institutions, and business communities in both countries. He noted that the existing potential for bilateral cooperation is not yet fully utilized and offers additional opportunities for the implementation of new joint projects.

The two sides also noted the positive dynamics in bilateral trade in agricultural products and underlined the importance of further increasing trade turnover, including through the expansion of the range of mutual supplies.

At the conclusion of the talks, Minister Luis Planas expressed his intention to invite the Minister of Agriculture of Kazakhstan Aidarbek Saparov, to pay a working visit to Spain to continue the dialogue and discuss prospects for implementing joint projects in the agro-industrial sector.
