Kazakhstan and Slovenia experience in managing national assets was discussed in Ljubljana.

Ljubljana, June 8, 2026 – The Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to Slovenia Altay Abibullayev at a meeting with President of the Management Board of the Slovenian State Holding (Slovenski državni holding) Mr. Žiga Debeljak, presented an update on Kazakhstan's socioeconomic development, focusing on ongoing reforms aimed at diversifying the national economy and reducing its dependence on the oil and gas sector. The Ambassador discussed key sectors of the country's economy, including transport and logistics, energy, mining and metallurgy, agriculture, digital technology, and manufacturing, as well as measures to attract investment and develop non-resource exports.
Special attention was paid to the activities of «Samruk-Kazyna» JSC as Kazakhstan's largest state investment holding, uniting national companies in energy, transport, logistics, telecommunications, and infrastructure.
In turn, Ž.Debeljak introduced the Kazakh side to the structure and operating principles of Slovenski državni holding, the central institution for managing Slovenian state assets. He noted that the holding manages state shares in more than 50 companies representing sectors such as energy, finance, transport, infrastructure, tourism, and other economic sectors.
The Slovenian interlocutor also discussed the holding's corporate management model, priorities for improving the efficiency of state assets, and the implementation of modern standards of corporate governance, digitalization, and sustainable development.
The parties discussed opportunities to exchange experience in state asset management, improving corporate governance, and developing investment cooperation between Kazakhstan and Slovenia. Following the meeting, mutual interest in continuing expert dialogue and strengthening bilateral economic ties was confirmed.
