Brazil, June 10, 2026 – A meeting was held at the Embassy of Kazakhstan in Brazil between Ambassador BolatNussupov, President of the Brazilian Tobacco Industry Association «Sinditabaco»ValmorThesing, and President of the Brazil–Kazakhstan Chamber of Commerce and Industry CassianoViana.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the establishment of bilateral cooperation in the field of production technologies and the supply of raw tobacco.

The Brazilian side noted that Brazil is the world’s leading exporter of tobacco and ranks third globally in production volume, producing approximately 600,000–700,000 metric tons annually, behind only China and the United States. Around 85–90% of Brazilian tobacco is exported, primarily to Europe and Southeast Asia. The country’s main tobacco-growing regions are located in the southern states of Rio Grande do Sul, Santa Catarina, and Paraná.

In this regard, interest was expressed in establishing partnerships with relevant organizations and companies in Kazakhstan operating in this sector. The parties agreed to organize an online meeting between potential partners from the two countries.
