Books Bring Kazakhstan and Georgia Closer

Tbilisi, June 10 – Young authors from Kazakhstan Arlan and Aslan Aitkaliyev held an online presentation of their book for students of the European School in Tbilisi. The meeting was aimed at promoting reading, developing children’s creativity and strengthening cultural and educational dialogue between Kazakhstan and Georgia.
During the meeting, Arlan and Aslan Aitkaliyev presented their book “Harold and Larabelle. The Kingdom of Books”, spoke about the idea behind its creation, the main characters and the values reflected in the story. Special attention was paid to the themes of friendship, kindness, mutual support, the pursuit of knowledge and love for books.
Students of the European School in Tbilisi showed great interest in the creative journey of the Kazakh schoolchildren and asked questions about the writing process, sources of inspiration, favourite books and school life in Kazakhstan. The meeting was held in an open and friendly atmosphere, allowing the children to exchange views on reading, education, culture and common interests.
Arlan and Aslan Aitkaliyev noted that it is important for them not only to write books, but also to share their stories with peers from different countries, as literature helps children better understand each other, develop imagination and find common values regardless of language and culture.
Such initiatives contribute to strengthening humanitarian ties between Kazakhstan and Georgia, broadening students’ horizons and fostering interest among the younger generation in culture, creativity and international communication.
Background: Arlan and Aslan Aitkaliyev are young authors from the city of Uralsk and students of a Waldorf-oriented gymnasium school. Their book “Harold and Larabelle. The Kingdom of Books” has been presented in several languages and is intended for a children’s audience. Earlier, the young authors took part in international online meetings with schoolchildren from a number of countries, including Belarus, Uzbekistan and the Netherlands.
