Kazakh Delegation Studied Spain’s Experience in Judicial Education and Court Administration

Madrid, 8-11 June 2026 – The delegation of the Republic of Kazakhstan headed by Mr. Yerzhan Zhiyenbayev, Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration of the Republic of Kazakhstan, paid a working visit to the Kingdom of Spain to study advanced Spanish practices in judicial training and the organization of the judicial system.
During the visit, meetings were held with the leadership of the Centre for Legal Studies (Centro de Estudios Jurídicos), the Supreme Court of Spain, the National Court (Audiencia Nacional), the Judicial School of Spain, and the High Court of Justice of Catalonia. Discussions focused on the training of judges and judicial personnel, ensuring consistency of judicial practice, strengthening judicial independence, the digitalization of justice, and the application of artificial intelligence technologies.
The Kazakh delegation showed particular interest in the experience of the Centre for Legal Studies, a specialized institution under the Spanish Ministry of Justice responsible for training justice sector professionals, as well as the Judicial School of Spain, which implements a comprehensive multi-level system for judicial training.
At the conclusion of the visit, both sides reaffirmed their mutual interest in further developing cooperation in judicial education, digital transformation of the justice sector, the application of artificial intelligence, and the exchange of professional expertise. The contacts established during the visit create additional opportunities for strengthening cooperation between the judicial and legal institutions of Kazakhstan and Spain.
