On the third Sunday of June, Kazakhstan celebrates Father’s Day — a holiday that highlights the important role of men in family life, child upbringing, and the preservation of traditional values. For servicemen of the National Guard of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, this day carries special meaning, as they serve every day as protectors not only of the Motherland but also of their families.

Today, more than 1,700 large families serve within the ranks of the National Guard. One notable example is the family of Lieutenant Colonel Adilbek Bulatkhanov, Deputy Commander for Equipment and Armament of military unit 5573.

The officer has nearly 20 years of military service behind him. During this time, he served in four cities across Kazakhstan, repeatedly relocating with his family. Despite the challenges associated with frequent moves and the demands of military life, his wife has always remained his reliable support, creating a strong family foundation, supporting her husband, and maintaining a warm home environment. Thanks to the understanding and support of his family, the officer has been able to dedicate himself to serving the Motherland while remaining a caring father.

Military service requires great responsibility, discipline, and dedication. However, the officer believes that raising children and actively participating in their lives is equally important.

“Being a father is a great responsibility. We want our children to look up to us, so we always strive to be positive role models. Military service taught me discipline and perseverance, while fatherhood taught me kindness and patience,” said Lieutenant Colonel Adilbek Bulatkhanov.

Another example of dedication to both family and military duty is Sergeant Makhambet Baizhigitov of military unit 6636. Among his fellow servicemen, he is highly respected as a communications specialist and a responsible serviceman. Together with his wife, he is raising seven children and considers the well-being of his family and the achievements of his sons and daughters to be his greatest accomplishment in life.

The father of many children places special emphasis on raising his children through sports. In his free time, he coaches his older sons in Kazakh wrestling (Qazaq Kuresi), instilling in them a respect for national traditions, discipline, sportsmanship, and a determination to succeed. According to the sergeant, sports help children develop strong character and self-confidence.

As reliable defenders of the state, National Guard servicemen also remain caring fathers who, through their personal example, instill patriotism, respect for hard work, and commitment to family values in the younger generation.

“Defender of the Motherland = Defender of the Family” is a principle that many military fathers embody not only in service but also in their everyday lives. Such individuals serve as role models for their children and make a significant contribution to strengthening the institution of family and raising a достойное future generation of Kazakhstan.
