Today, the official opening ceremony of the Republic of Kazakhstan Youth Weightlifting Championship was held at the Physical Culture and Sports Complex in the settlement of Zhosaly.

District Akim Zhandos Yerkinbek attended the opening ceremony of this prestigious competition, which has brought together young athletes from all regions of the country, and wished the participants success.

"It is a great honor for us to welcome young athletes from across Kazakhstan to the sacred land of Syr. Around 300 athletes are participating in this championship. This is an important competition that promotes friendship among the younger generation. Over the past four years, nearly 2 billion tenge has been invested in the development of sports infrastructure in our district, and major projects have been implemented. As a result, the number of our fellow citizens proudly representing Kazakhstan on the international stage continues to grow. I am confident that among the talented young athletes competing today are future champions who will defend our nation’s honor at world-class competitions," said Zhandos Yerkinbek.

During the ceremony, congratulatory speeches were delivered by Zhanbolat Zarlykhanuly, Vice President of the Weightlifting Federation of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Bakhtiyar Artaev, Head of the Regional Department of Physical Culture and Sports, and Viloriy Pak, Honored Coach of the Republic of Kazakhstan. They extended their best wishes to the participants.

As part of the event, the district akim awarded local athlete Yerassyl Saulebekov, a World and Asian Weightlifting Champion, with the “Karmakshy Arlany” belt. In addition, several individuals who have contributed to the development of sports were honored with the “Sport Janashyry” (Patron of Sports) badge.

The ceremony concluded with a festive concert program that created an uplifting atmosphere for the athletes. Local performers sang patriotic songs and provided an inspiring cultural experience for the audience.

It should be noted that this is the first time the Republic of Kazakhstan Youth Weightlifting Championship has been organized in the Karmakshy District. The competition will continue from June 16 to June 23, during which the national champions will be determined.
