Astana, June 17, 2026 - The Secretariat of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence-Building Measures in Asia (CICA)  hosted a Roundtable of Executive Structures of Regional Organizations in Asia, dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the CICA Secretariat. The event was attended by Jandos Asanov, Acting Chairman of the Board of the Kazakhstan Agency for International Development "KazAID", who also worked in 2006–2008 as the first executive director of CICA Secretariat.

In his address J.Asanov noted CICA’s unique platform for considering various security challenges of pan-Asian security as well as constructive nature of CICA’s confidence-building measures (CBMs).

Referring to the proposal of the President of Kazakhstan K.Tokayev on creation of an international water organization under the aegis of the United Nations, J.Asanov called on the international and regional organizations to pay a serious attention to the accumulation scientific and technological potential to overcome the water crisis.
