Today, Murat Ergeshbayev, Akim of the region, and Murat Tleumbetov, Chairman of the Regional Maslikhat, visited the Shakizada farm in the village of Akzhar in the Karmakshy District to learn about its operations.
The farm was founded in 2005. Currently, 50 hectares are planted with rice, 77 hectares with alfalfa, 0.5 hectares with a vegetable garden, and 70 hectares with grain corn. Five people are permanently employed there.
This year, 25,130 hectares of land in the Karmakshy District are allocated for crop cultivation. Twenty-one agricultural enterprises were allocated 1,611.5 tons of diesel fuel at a reduced price for spring field work. Water-saving technologies are being applied across 600 hectares, including drip irrigation on 19 hectares and sprinkler irrigation on 581 hectares of forage crops. The community garden project plans to accommodate 960 families on 420 hectares, where 260 hectares of vegetable gardens, 63 hectares of vegetables, and 97 hectares of potatoes have already been planted.
It is worth noting that this year, 185,800 hectares of land in the region have been allocated to agricultural crops.
In accordance with the head of state's instructions, the area under rice cultivation has been reduced by 10,900 hectares compared to last year. Early crops were planted, including: 7,541 hectares of safflower, 415 hectares of barley, 4,338 hectares of wheat, 21,394 hectares of new alfalfa, 428 hectares of sweet sorghum, 873 hectares of sudan grass, 409 hectares of silage corn, 373 hectares of soybeans, 120 hectares of forage pumpkin, 326 hectares of millet, 1,338 hectares of potatoes, 6,687 hectares of vegetables and 8,501 hectares of melons.
