The Brazilian side proposed organizing a presentation of Kazakhstan’s economic opportunities and bilateral cooperation in the state capital, Belo Horizonte, under the format of a “Kazakhstan Day in Minas Gerais.” In turn, the Ambassador of Kazakhstan informed the participants about ongoing efforts to establish a sister-city partnership between the historic cities of Ouro Preto (Minas Gerais, Brazil) and Semey (Abai Region, Kazakhstan).
Following the discussions, the parties agreed to actively pursue cooperation in this area and to consider the possibility of opening an Honorary Consulate of Kazakhstan in the state capital.

It is also home to one of Brazil’s largest heavy vehicle manufacturing plants.
The state has a highly developed agricultural and livestock sector, producing coffee, sugar cane, tobacco, citrus fruits, grains, and other agricultural commodities. Today, Minas Gerais is one of Brazil’s most economically developed and densely populated states.
