On June 18, 2026, Ambassador-at-Large – Head of the Representative Office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Almaty Zhanibek Abdrashov participated and delivered a welcoming speech at the opening ceremony of the Honorary Consulate of Romania in Almaty. In his speech, Ambassador emphasized the development of Kazakh-Romanian relations and noted the importance of opening an Honorary Consulate for strengthening humanitarian and cultural ties, developing tourism, academic exchanges and supporting business initiatives. In conclusion, Zh. Abdrashov expressed confidence in the further deepening of friendly and mutually beneficial relations between the two countries.
