Karaganda expands partnership with Slovakia

The Karaganda region is strengthening ties with Slovakia. Agreements have been signed with the Bansko-Bystritsky Autonomous Region in the fields of economics, entrepreneurship and education, as well as new joint projects.

A delegation of the Karaganda region headed by Deputy Akim of the region Ermek Alpysov visited the Slovak Republic. It includes representatives of government agencies and businesses working in the fields of energy, metallurgy and information technology.
A Kazakh-Slovak business forum was also held. The participants discussed the prospects of cooperation, investment opportunities and the development of business ties.

In addition, the delegation met with Ondrej Lunter, Chairman of the Bansko-Bystritsky Autonomous Region, representatives of the regional Chamber of Entrepreneurs and the Presidential Administration of the Slovak Republic. The focus was on industrial cooperation, business support, education, and regional development.
During the visit, the Karaganda region and the Bansko-Bystritsky Autonomous Region signed a cooperation agreement. The document will become the basis for implementing joint projects and strengthening ties between the regions.
Another memorandum was signed by the Chamber of Entrepreneurs of the Karaganda region and the Chamber of Entrepreneurs of the Bansko-Bystritsky Region. It is aimed at developing direct contacts between entrepreneurs, supporting business initiatives and expanding trade and economic ties.

New opportunities are opening up for students and teachers. Matey Bel University and E. A. Buketov Karaganda National Research University have signed a memorandum of cooperation. It provides for academic exchanges, joint research and educational projects.
The Karaganda delegation also visited enterprises operating in the fields of electronics, metallurgy, energy and information technology. As a result of the meetings, preliminary agreements were reached on the implementation of joint projects.
Special attention was paid to the Adrian Group, which is already operating in the Kazakh market in partnership with the Karaganda Alemgaz. The meeting participants discussed the possibilities of expanding cooperation and launching new initiatives in the industrial sector.
In addition, representatives of the region got acquainted with the work of a private industrial zone and studied the Slovak experience in attracting investments, developing production infrastructure and supporting businesses.

— We consider Slovakia as an important partner of Kazakhstan in the European Union. The signed agreements open up new opportunities for cooperation in the economy, education and the humanitarian sphere. I am confident that the agreements reached will be continued in practice and will become the basis for new joint projects," said Ermek Alpysov, Deputy Akim of the Karaganda region.
