Karatobe District Marks the 185th Anniversary of Mukhit Meralyuly at a High Level

Karatobe District hosted the Republican cultural and educational event "Sal Mukhit – The Voice of an Era", dedicated to the 185th anniversary of the renowned Kazakh folk composer, singer-poet, and dombyra virtuoso Mukhit Meralyuly.

The celebrations commenced in the regional center, Oral City, at the Atameken Palace of Arts, where a scientific conference entitled "The Phenomenon of Mukhit in Kazakh Musical Culture: History, Heritage, and Research" was held. During the event, the documentary "Sal Mukhit – The Voice of an Era", produced in honor of the 185th anniversary of Mukhit Meralyuly, was officially presented to the public.

The program also featured the presentation of the book "The Outstanding Singer of His Era", published to commemorate the anniversary.

The celebrations then continued in Karatobe District. Distinguished guests and participants of the nationwide competition first visited the mausoleum of Mukhit Meralyuly, where they paid tribute to his memory and offered prayers.

As part of the anniversary program, an open district kokpar tournament was held, along with the presentation of the book "Singer Mukhit" by writer Zhaulybai Kosybayev.

The district center also hosted the Republican Traditional Singers' Competition entitled "Sal Mukhit – Longing of the Golden Steppe." Throughout the anniversary celebrations, Kazakhstan's national customs and traditions were widely promoted, while honored guests were welcomed in traditional yurts with authentic Kazakh hospitality and festive meals.

Official delegations from the neighboring districts of Oiyl and Kobda in Aktobe Region, as well as Syrym District, attended the anniversary celebrations and presented congratulatory letters on behalf of the regional and district administrations.

By the decision of the jury, the best performers were selected and presented with special awards. The Republican cultural and educational events dedicated to the anniversary concluded with a grand gala concert.
