A welcoming ceremony for the Prime Minister of Georgia, who arrived in Kazakhstan on an official visit, was held at the Palace of Independence.

During the ceremony, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze introduced the members of their respective delegations. The commander of the honor guard delivered a welcoming report, after which the national anthems of Kazakhstan and Georgia were played.

Following the ceremony, the President of Kazakhstan and the Prime Minister of Georgia proceeded to the meeting hall for bilateral talks in a restricted format.

Welcoming Irakli Kobakhidze, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev emphasized that the visit was of exceptional importance for strengthening the Kazakhstan–Georgia partnership.

“I am confident that this visit will be a great success. I would like to emphasize that Kazakhstan regards Georgia as a strategically important and longstanding partner. We maintain close ties in many areas, including the economy and humanitarian cooperation. I am convinced that this cooperation should continue to develop. As Head of State, I will make every effort to ensure that our partnership continues to grow steadily and deliver tangible results. Georgia is a strategic partner of Kazakhstan. We highly value our friendship and cooperation with your country. Our people sincerely respect your country and its people. Today, a great number of Kazakh tourists visit Georgia, and they return with overwhelmingly positive impressions. At the same time, there are still many untapped opportunities, and we must work together to fully realize the existing potential and give new momentum to our bilateral cooperation,” the President said.

In turn, Irakli Kobakhidze stated that it was a great honor for him to be in Kazakhstan and to hold this meeting.

“We attach special importance to the relations between Georgia and Kazakhstan, and we are very pleased that our partnership has become strategic. This reflects the true essence of our cooperation. However, as you have rightly noted, there remains enormous untapped potential, and we must do everything possible to make full use of it. Our countries enjoy strong political and economic ties, as well as cooperation in education, culture, and many other fields. We are highly committed to strengthening our relations across all these areas. This visit is particularly significant because we are signing the Joint Statement on Strategic Partnership. I am confident that this document will provide fresh momentum to our bilateral cooperation. Our strategic partnership is based on shared values, which is why our relationship has such tremendous potential. I would also like to thank you personally for your continued support in promoting friendship and cooperation between our two countries,” the Prime Minister stressed.
