Brasília, July 1, 2026 – Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Brazil Bolat Nussupov held a meeting with Tatiana Prazeres, Secretary of Foreign Trade at Brazil's Ministry of Development, Industry, Trade and Services.
In the context of Kazakhstan's recent political reforms, the Ambassador briefed his counterpart on the country's current development, its favorable investment climate, and the government's measures to support foreign investment.
The two sides highly appreciated the work of the Brazil–Kazakhstan Business Council, established in 2021, as well as the outcomes of the visit of Brazil's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mauro Vieira, to Astana in May this year. They also agreed to make joint efforts to increase bilateral trade to US$1 billion.
The Kazakh side emphasized the importance of intensifying trade and economic cooperation between the two countries and adopting government support measures to promote exports and imports through the diversification of traded goods.
In addition, with a view to giving fresh impetus to bilateral trade cooperation, the parties discussed the possibility of establishing an interministerial working group between the trade ministries of the two countries within the framework of the existing Intergovernmental Commission (IGC).
