Brasília, July 2, 2026 – A meeting was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Federative Republic of Brazil between the Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to Brazil, Bolat Nussupov, and the Brazilian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs responsible for political affairs, Ambassador Susan Kleebank.

During the meeting, the parties highly praised the outcomes of the official visit of Brazil's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mauro Vieira, to Astana on May 11 of this year and discussed the implementation of the agreements reached during that visit. Particular attention was given to further strengthening the Kazakhstan–Brazil political dialogue and expanding bilateral cooperation.

The Ambassador of Kazakhstan briefed his counterpart on the country's large-scale political reforms, including the entry into force of the new Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan on July 1, 2026, the forthcoming elections to the unicameral Kurultai, and the formation of the Qazaqstan Halyq Keńesi. It was emphasized that these developments will mark an important milestone in the country's political evolution and signify the completion of the comprehensive modernization of Kazakhstan's key state institutions.

Taking the opportunity, Ambassador Susan Kleebank congratulated Kazakh diplomats on their professional holiday, the Diplomat's Day of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and wished them continued success in strengthening Kazakhstan's international standing.

At the conclusion of the meeting, Ambassador Bolat Nussupov expressed his sincere appreciation to Ambassador Susan Kleebank for her constructive and friendly cooperation and presented her with a Certificate of Appreciation from the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the Federative Republic of Brazil in recognition of her significant contribution to strengthening and expanding Kazakhstan–Brazil bilateral relations.
