Islamabad, July 1, 2026 – The Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Pakistan, H.E. Mr. Y.Kistafin, received the newly appointed President of the Pakistan Chess Federation, Mr. Zeeshan Ali Naqvi. During the meeting, the parties discussed the further development of cooperation between the chess federations of Kazakhstan and Pakistan.

Within the framework of the Memorandum of Cooperation and the Roadmap for 2026-2027, the parties reviewed the progress made in implementing joint initiatives, including completed and planned online master classes for chess players and coaches.

Ambassador Y.Kistafin proposed exploring opportunities to further strengthen bilateral cooperation, including at the regional level, through the active involvement of the provincial branches of the Pakistan Chess Federation in the implementation of joint projects.

For his part, Mr. Naqvi expressed his appreciation to the Kazakh side for its continued support and valuable contribution to the development of chess in Pakistan. He also invited Ambassador to attend, as the Guest of Honour, the opening ceremony of the National Chess Championship of Pakistan.
