Ahead of Capital City Day, servicemen of the National Guard of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan organized a unique musical event for the residents and guests of Astana. The National Guard’s Male Choir performed aboard a riverboat, transforming a cruise along the Yesil River into a festive open-air concert.

The vessel carrying the military performers sailed along the capital’s main river, filling the air with well-known patriotic marches, contemporary musical pieces, and traditional Kazakh songs. The unusual concert format became one of the highlights of the holiday celebrations and attracted the attention of numerous residents and tourists enjoying the riverside promenade.

A special feature of the program was the performance of Major Bauyrzhan Makayev, a recipient of the Order of Kurmet, who performed solo works on the dombra. His virtuoso performance added a distinct national flavor to the concert and was met with warm applause from the audience.

As the riverboat passed along the embankment, many pedestrians stopped to enjoy the performance. Spectators recorded the concert on their mobile phones, sang along to familiar melodies, and greeted the musicians with applause and words of appreciation. The unique floating stage delighted the audience and created a truly festive atmosphere.

Such creative initiatives have become a longstanding tradition of the National Guard. They allow servicemen not only to demonstrate their artistic excellence but also to engage with the public, contribute to the country's cultural life, and help create a special atmosphere during national and public holidays.
