A solemn Military Oath Ceremony was held on the parade ground of Military Unit 5573 of the National Guard of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Astana. A total of 750 spring conscripts pledged their allegiance to the Motherland after completing basic military training and officially joining the ranks of the National Guard.
The young servicemen arrived from all regions of Kazakhstan. During their initial training, they mastered the fundamentals of military service, studied military regulations, and acquired the essential skills that will serve as the foundation for their future mission of maintaining public safety and security.
A distinctive feature of this year’s ceremony was that, alongside the conscripts, four female contract servicemen also took the Military Oath. They included Dildora Salmetova, a specialist of the sanitary and epidemiological service; Aigerim Zhanatlekova, senior musician of the Song and Dance Ensemble; Saniya Karabiden, a psychologist; and Maral Smakhambetova, a musician of the National Guard’s Exemplary Military Band. Their participation gave the ceremony special significance, highlighting that today women serve alongside men with equal dedication in the ranks of the National Guard.
More than 2,000 people—parents, relatives, friends, veterans, and honored guests—attended the ceremony to share this important milestone with the young servicemen. For many of the recruits, it marked the first truly significant step into adult life, taken in the presence of their loved ones.
Addressing the personnel, Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan and Commander-in-Chief of the National Guard, Lieutenant General Ansagan Baltabekov, congratulated the servicemen on this important occasion.
“Taking the Military Oath is one of the most responsible and memorable moments in the life of every serviceman. From this day forward, you become part of the National Guard and assume a great responsibility for protecting public safety and maintaining public order. I am confident that during your service you will demonstrate discipline, resilience, and loyalty to your military duty, gain invaluable experience, strengthen your character, and build lifelong bonds with your comrades. I wish each of you to serve with honor, justify the trust of your parents, commanders, and the people of Kazakhstan, and proudly wear the military uniform,” the Commander-in-Chief said.
On behalf of the parents, Manshuk Toleukhanova, the mother of Private Zhambyl Zhazykbayev, addressed the new servicemen. She wished them resilience, patience, and success in their military service, urging them to take care of themselves, respect their commanders, and always remember that their families are waiting for them at home.
“For every mother, today is filled with both pride and emotion. We believe in you, we are proud of your choice, and we are confident that you will fulfill your duty to the Motherland with honor. Take care of one another, support your comrades, and never forget that your parents and loved ones are eagerly waiting for your safe return. Come home healthy, stronger, and more mature,” she said.
The Military Oath ceremony marked an important milestone for the young soldiers, who will serve alongside law enforcement officers to maintain public order and ensure the safety of residents and visitors in the capital.
In addition, they will take part in providing security during major public, political, cultural, and sporting events held in Astana.
