The XXIV National Sports Games of the East Kazakhstan region are being held in the Katon-Karagai district as part of the Altai - Turki Alemin altyn Besigi International festival. Athletes from all over the region take part in the competition. The competition program includes national sports: kokpar, audarispak (in the weight categories of 74, 80 and 87 kg), zhamby ata and tengye ilu.

On the first day of the competition, the athlete of the Samar Kalymbek Nurasyl district won a bronze medal in the zhamby ata equestrian competition, taking third place.

The Samar district is also represented by a cockpit team at the XXIV National Sports Games. Large-scale competitions are aimed at popularizing national sports, preserving and promoting cultural traditions, as well as improving sports skills and strengthening the spirit of sports competition among participants.
