On 9 July 2026, the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Kazakhstan, jointly with the Eurasian Fund for Stabilization and Development (EFSD), held a kick-off seminar dedicated to the assessment of Kazakhstan’s public procurement system in accordance with the international Methodology for Assessing Procurement Systems (MAPS).

The seminar brought together representatives of government agencies, international experts, and representatives of interested organizations.

The previous assessment of Kazakhstan’s public procurement system under the MAPS methodology was conducted in 2019 with the participation of international financial institutions, including the World Bank, the OECD, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB), and the Asian Development Bank (ADB).

During the seminar, participants were introduced to the objectives, stages, and key approaches of the assessment process under the MAPS methodology.

The assessment will provide a comprehensive analysis of the current public procurement system and help identify priority areas for its further improvement in line with international standards and global best practices.

The Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Kazakhstan continues its systematic efforts to develop a transparent, efficient, and automated public procurement system.
