On July 9-10, 2026, on the basis of the DGD in the Mangystau region, UMTS CGD, together with Schmitt & Orlov Intellectual Property, held a face-to-face training seminar on "Practical experience in detecting and identifying counterfeit products."

The seminar was attended by employees of the Department of Customs Administration and Customs posts, whose activities are directly related to the implementation of customs control and the protection of intellectual property rights.

The main purpose of the event was to improve practical skills in detecting counterfeit products when moving goods across the customs border of the Republic of Kazakhstan. During the training, the participants studied modern methods for detecting signs of counterfeit, examined the distinctive features of original branded products and consolidated their knowledge on the example of real samples of goods.

The speakers of the seminar were Aigelov Asylkhan, Head of the Advanced Training and Professional Training Department at the Educational and Methodological Center, and Renata Imangalieva, an international lawyer and representative of Schmitt & Orlov Intellectual Property.

Such seminars contribute to the development of professional competencies of employees of state revenue agencies, increase the effectiveness of detecting counterfeit products and strengthen the system of intellectual property rights protection in the Republic of Kazakhstan.
