Kazakhstan's economic growth accelerated to 4.1% in the first half of the year — Serik Zhumangarin

According to the results of the first half of 2026, Kazakhstan's real GDP growth amounted to 4.1%. New macroeconomic indicators of the country were presented at the Government meeting by Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of National Economy Serik Zhumangarin.
Compared to January-May, the dynamics improved by 0.4 percentage points. The main impetus was provided by the real sector, which rose from 4% to 5.1%. The service sector grew by 3.5%.The highest activity is shown by construction, manufacturing, transport and trade. Growth is also recorded in the agro-industrial complex and communications.
"Since the beginning of this year, the economy has continued to accelerate. The positive dynamics was achieved due to an increase in growth rates in the real sector. The non-oil sector remains the main driver of economic growth. The growth rate of the non—oil sector has consistently exceeded 5% this year," Serik Zhumangarin reported.
Investments in fixed assets reached 9.5 trillion tenge, an increase of 9.6%. At the same time, private investments increased by 21.4%, taking 87% of the total structure. The largest increase was recorded in IT and communications by 2.3 times, construction by 38.7%, manufacturing by 33.3%, agriculture by 24.6% and transport by 11.6%.
In January-May, the trade turnover in foreign trade amounted to $56.3 billion. Exports reached $30.4 billion, imports – $26 billion. The trade surplus exceeded $4.4 billion.
