Interview with Yerkinbek Amankulovich Nurbaev, Head of the State Revenue Department for Beineu district
Yerkinbek Amankulovich, on July 1, the new edition of the General Classification of Types of Economic Activity (OKED) came into force. Tell us briefly what has changed and why it is important.
E.A. Nurbaev: Indeed, since July 1, 2026, the updated version of the OKED has been in effect, which has been brought into line with the international classification. The changes are aimed at more accurately reflecting modern activities, new professions and business lines. Some codes have been clarified and detailed, outdated ones have been deleted, and new ones have been added. The most noticeable changes affected retail trade (including depending on the area of the facility), tourism activities, certain types of courier services, as well as gas sales and robotics production.
How is the transition to new codes for existing sole proprietors and LLP?
E.A. Nurbaev: For most taxpayers, the transition is performed automatically by comparing old codes with new ones. However, errors cannot be completely ruled out. Some activities have received new codes or have been divided into more detailed ones. Therefore, we strongly recommend that all sole proprietors and LLP independently check which OKED code was assigned after the transition, and update the information if necessary.
What should I do if the code has changed incorrectly? Where should residents of the Beineu district apply, for example?
E.A. Nurbaev: First of all, you need to check the information in the taxpayer's personal account or through electronic services. If a discrepancy is found, you can contact the State Revenue Department for the Beine district. We are ready to provide consulting assistance and help you make changes correctly. It is better to do this in a timely manner to avoid possible difficulties when submitting reports, obtaining permits or participating in public procurement.
What advice would you give to entrepreneurs?
E.A. Nurbaev: Do not delay checking the OKED codes. This is not a formality, but an important element of proper tax and statistical accounting. Timely updating will help you avoid mistakes and conduct business calmly. Our experts are always in touch and ready to help.
