The XXII Kazakhstan-Russia Interregional Cooperation Forum in Omsk became an important platform for discussing the further development of bilateral ties. The forum was attended by the Presidents of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin, as well as heads of government agencies, business representatives, and leaders of border regions.

At the forum, Akim of the East Kazakhstan Region Nurymbet Saktaganov was given the opportunity to present the potential of East Kazakhstan Region before the heads of the two states, as well as colleagues — leaders of regions of Kazakhstan and Russia. In his speech, he spoke about the competitive advantages of East Kazakhstan Region, the industrial, investment, and tourism potential of the region, and also outlined promising areas for further cooperation.

The head of our region focused on the opportunities for expanding production cooperation, implementing joint investment projects, developing transport and logistics links, tourism, education, and digital technologies.

Special attention was paid to those areas where a foundation for interaction has already been established and there are prospects for further growth.

The participation of the East Kazakhstan Region in a forum of such a high level is not only an opportunity to present the region to a wide audience, but also an important step towards strengthening business and humanitarian ties. It is on such platforms that new contacts, joint initiatives, and agreements are formed, to then be implemented into real solutions.

It should be noted that the development of interregional cooperation is one of the key factors for sustainable relations between Kazakhstan and Russia. Regular dialogue and open exchange of experience make it possible to preserve the results already achieved and create a foundation for further economic growth, as well as attracting investments and expanding mutually beneficial partnership.
