The development and deployment of modular wastewater treatment and pumping systems are carried out by the Astana-based company Tazau. Recently, the Astana City Department of Investment and Entrepreneurship Development organized a press tour, giving journalists an opportunity to learn more about this innovative enterprise located in Industrial Park No. 1.
The Tazau modular wastewater treatment systems plant was established in 2019. To date, its specialists have completed more than 1,000 projects, and the company's equipment is now operating in nearly every region of Kazakhstan. Its clients include municipal utilities, industrial enterprises, mining companies, and remote rotational work camps.
Although Tazau already manufactures highly востребованные and well-established products, the company continues to improve its production processes and optimize its technological lines. The plant expects to reach its full design capacity by the end of this year.
The company manufactures fully factory-assembled wastewater treatment systems for domestic, stormwater, and industrial wastewater, as well as pump stations. Every unit is custom-designed and built according to the specific requirements of each client.
According to Andrey Belyayev, the company's General Director, Tazau's key competitive advantage is its full-cycle production process.
"We manufacture fully equipped modular units that only need to be connected to the customer's utility networks," he said.
Over the past several years, the company has built a highly qualified in-house team of professionals, including process engineers, designers, project engineers, automation specialists, welders, and CNC machine operators. According to Belyayev, one of the company's greatest strengths is its people, many of whom were trained internally.
Tazau has already successfully completed several projects in Russia and is currently negotiating with partners in Uzbekistan. However, Kazakhstan remains the company's primary market, where it plans to further strengthen its position. A full-scale expansion into international markets is planned by 2030.
One of the company's strategic priorities is digitalization. The plant is currently developing artificial intelligence solutions for the automation and remote monitoring of wastewater treatment facilities.
"Artificial intelligence will enable continuous monitoring of treatment equipment, detect potential issues at an early stage, and assist customers in operating complex engineering systems. We expect to complete the full implementation of this technology by March 2027," said the General Director.
He noted that AI-based monitoring is particularly important because many customers lack the technical expertise required to operate sophisticated treatment systems. At present, the company supports its clients through its own service department, but in the future, a significant share of monitoring functions will be handled by artificial intelligence.
Beyond its technological achievements, Tazau also contributes to improving Kazakhstan's environmental sustainability by developing advanced wastewater treatment solutions. This commitment is reflected in the company's slogan:
"Clean Future Technologies."
