The East Kazakhstan Region is one of the country's leading tourist destinations, attracting thousands of visitors every year for hiking, ecotourism, and mountain adventures. Katon-Karagai, Ridder, the Ivanovsky and Ubinsky mountain ranges, as well as many other scenic destinations, are among the region's most popular tourist attractions.

The Tourism Department of the East Kazakhstan Region reminds visitors that safe travel in mountainous areas largely depends on personal responsibility and proper preparation.

Before setting out, tourists are encouraged to carefully study their route, assess its level of difficulty, and realistically evaluate their physical abilities. It is also important to inform relatives or friends about the planned route and expected return time.

When travelling in the mountains, visitors should carry sufficient drinking water, food supplies, warm clothing, a first-aid kit, and a fully charged mobile phone. Checking the weather forecast before departure is essential, as mountain weather can change rapidly.

During the trip, tourists should stay on designated hiking trails, follow all safety recommendations, and avoid leaving marked routes. When visiting protected natural areas, all established regulations and the instructions of national park staff must be observed.

Visitors are also encouraged to protect the environment by taking all waste with them, avoiding damage to vegetation, and lighting fires only in designated areas.

In case of an emergency, immediately call the national emergency number 112.

Following these simple safety guidelines will help ensure a safe and enjoyable journey while preserving the unique natural heritage of East Kazakhstan for future generations.
