In the Aktobe region, during control over the pricing of socially significant food products and compliance with trade legislation requirements, a fact of exceeding the established maximum retro-bonus amount by a large supermarket chain was revealed.

In connection with the identified violation, this business entity was brought to administrative responsibility under Article 204-3 of the Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan on Administrative Offenses. As a result, an administrative fine in the amount of 300 MCI was imposed.

Facts of trade markup excess revealed

In addition, since the beginning of 2026, the Department of Trade and Consumer Rights Protection of the Aktobe region has been conducting constant monitoring of compliance with established trade markups on socially significant food products.

During control measures, a number of facts of exceeding the maximum trade markup established for socially significant food products were revealed. As a result, more than 137 business entities were brought to administrative responsibility.

The amount of exceeding the established maximum level of trade markup ranged from 20% to 270.9%.

Violations were mainly detected in the sale of potatoes, onions, carrots, rice, sunflower oil and other essential goods.

Based on the identified facts, appropriate administrative measures were taken against business entities in accordance with Part 1 of Article 204-4 of the Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan on Administrative Offenses.

Control and awareness-raising work continues

The Department of Trade and Consumer Rights Protection of the Aktobe region continues monitoring and control over compliance with legislative requirements in pricing socially significant food products.

In addition, awareness-raising work is carried out on an ongoing basis among business entities on issues of compliance with the established maximum trade markup on socially significant food products, fulfillment of requirements regarding retro-bonuses, and compliance with current legislation norms.
