The incident occurred at around 9:00 p.m. in one of the city’s apartment buildings.

At the time, Private Armat Abylgaliyev, a serviceman of Military Unit 5517 of the National Guard of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, was at home. After hearing cries for help in the stairwell, he immediately left his apartment.

On the landing, the serviceman encountered a frightened child who told him that a fire had broken out in an apartment on the fifth floor and that his two younger brothers were still inside.

Without wasting any time, the National Guard serviceman rushed to the fifth floor. Despite the heavy smoke, he entered the apartment, found the children inside, and carried them out of the danger zone.

After rescuing the children, the serviceman reported the incident to the Department of Emergency Situations and called on the neighbors for assistance. Before firefighters arrived, the residents took measures to prevent the fire from spreading. The arriving fire crews subsequently extinguished the blaze.

Thanks to the timely and decisive actions of the National Guard serviceman, the lives of two children were saved.
