Kazakhstan and MVM Group Expand Energy Partnership

Budapest, 26 August 2026 – Ambassador-designate of the Republic of Kazakhstan to Hungary A.Bakytbekkyzy held a meeting with MVM Group Chief Executive Officer Zs.Bertalan.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the current state and prospects for the development of Kazakh-Hungarian cooperation in the energy sector, as well as opportunities for implementing new joint projects.
The Ambassador highlighted Kazakhstan's interest in further expanding cooperation with MVM Group, including in the areas of electricity, gas, renewable energy, energy infrastructure and the introduction of advanced technologies.
The parties also discussed prospects for cooperation in the field of nuclear energy, including the exchange of experience, human capital development and opportunities for Hungarian companies to participate in relevant projects in Kazakhstan. The significant potential of this area was noted, taking into account MVM Group's experience in the operation and development of nuclear energy.
Issues related to the practical implementation of previously reached agreements and expanding MVM Group's participation in promising energy projects in Kazakhstan, as well as exchanged views on opportunities to strengthen business ties between companies of the two countries were reviewed as well.
Following the meeting, the parties confirmed their readiness to further develop mutually beneficial cooperation and identified new areas of engagement aimed at strengthening the Kazakh-Hungarian partnership in the energy sector.
