In Almaty, systematic work continues to implement the Head of State’s instructions to provide citizens with affordable housing, including the construction and allocation of new apartments to city residents.

Almaty Mayor Darkhan Satybaldy took part in the second stage of handing over keys to new apartments.

In July, as part of the first stage, 885 families received the keys to their new homes. During the second stage, 1,832 apartments are planned to be allocated, with 946 families having already received the keys to their new apartments.

Thus, following the results of the first two stages, the housing conditions of approximately 2,700 Almaty families will be improved.

Priority in the allocation of housing is given to socially vulnerable groups, including orphans, people with disabilities, and families raising children with special needs.

This year, the Almaty City Construction Department continues to implement housing development projects. Construction is underway to complete 29 multi-apartment residential buildings in the Zhas-Kanat and Kalkaman microdistricts.

To date, construction of 17 buildings has been completed: 7 buildings in the Kalkaman-2 microdistrict and 10 buildings in the Zhas-Kanat microdistrict. These buildings contain 1,366 apartments with a total area of 74,467 square meters.

Technical passports for the completed residential buildings are currently being processed.

Work on the construction of new housing and on improving the living conditions of Almaty residents will continue.
