Almaty, September 10, 2026 – Ambassador-at-Large – Head of the Representative Office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Almaty Zhanibek Abdrashov participated and delivered opening remarks at the Third Meeting of Emerging Development Partners at «UN Plaza», dedicated to monitoring the effectiveness of assistance to developing countries and held to mark the UN Day for South-South Cooperation.

The event was organized by the Kazakhstan Agency of International Development (KazAID) jointly with the Subregional Office for North and Central Asia of the UN Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UN ESCAP).

In his remarks, Zh. Abdrashov emphasized Kazakhstan’s commitment to strengthening joint initiatives and partnerships to advance international development strategies in the areas of economic diversification, transport and transit infrastructure, and digital transformation. He also highlighted the importance of jointly advancing the objectives of the UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

Ambassador also highlighted the role of the UN Regional Centre for the Sustainable Development Goals for Central Asia and Afghanistan in Almaty.

The event was attended by the representatives of international development agencies from Central Asia, Southeast Asia, the Pacific region and Latin America.
