Almaty hosts Training on Ethical Reporting of Gender-Based Violence in the Media

Almaty, September 8, 2026 – Deputy Head of the Representative office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Almaty Rashid Yerishev participated in the opening of the regional training of trainers on «Accurate and Ethical Reporting on Gender-Based Violence in the Media» at the «UN Plaza».
The event brought together Jeren Güven Güres, Representative of the UN Women Country Office in Kazakhstan, as well as journalists, editors and media experts from Central Asian countries.
In his remarks, the MFA representative briefed the participants on the measures being undertaken to prevent gender-based violence, protect women’s rights and support initiatives aimed at advancing women’s rights and empowerment.
The event highlighted the importance of establishing responsible and professional standards within the region’s media community.
