Budapest, 23 September 2026 – During a meeting between Ambassador-Designate of the Republic of Kazakhstan to Hungary H.E. Ms. Anel Bakytbekkyzy and Executive Vice President of MOL Group for Exploration and Production Mr. Zsombor Marton, the parties discussed prospects for further developing and strengthening cooperation between the Republic of Kazakhstan and MOL Group, as well as exchanged views on areas of mutual interest and practical importance to both sides.

The meeting focused in particular on the strategic cooperation between the national company KazMunayGas and MOL Group, including further development of cooperation in the oil and gas sector and opportunities for supplying Kazakh energy resources to Hungary.

The parties highlighted the importance of further strengthening energy cooperation and diversifying sources of energy supplies, and expressed their interest in continuing constructive engagement in mutually beneficial areas.

The meeting also included an exchange of views on the prospects for MOL Group’s participation in major energy projects in Kazakhstan and the further expansion of cooperation between the two companies.

Following the meeting, the parties reaffirmed their interest in further developing the strategic partnership and strengthening mutually beneficial cooperation in the energy sector.

MOL Group is one of Europe’s leading oil and gas companies and has been consistently expanding its presence in Kazakhstan for many years. The company participates in the implementation of oil and gas projects in the country, including the development of the Rozhkovskoye field in the West Kazakhstan Region. This constitutes an important component of Kazakhstan-Hungary energy cooperation and provides a foundation for further expanding engagement between Kazakh and Hungarian partners.
