In the framework of the summer Spartakiad, a chess and togyzkumalaku tournament among convicts was held in the secondary security institution of the Penal Correction System in the Abai region together with representatives of the Department of Physical Culture and Sports of the Abai region. More than 50 convicts took part in the competition.

The main purpose of the event was to develop the intellectual abilities of convicts, popularize national values, form a healthy lifestyle, organize useful leisure activities and engage in systematic sports.

During the competition, the participants demonstrated a high level of preparation, strategic thinking, endurance and the desire to win. The tournament was held in an atmosphere of mutual respect and fair wrestling, contributing to the development of logical thinking, increasing intellectual potential and strengthening the sporting spirit.

According to the results of the competitions, the winners and prize-winners were determined, to whom the organizers presented well-deserved awards.

- Holding such competitions contributes to the development of the intellectual potential of convicts, the formation of self-discipline skills, rational thinking and effective organization of free time. In addition, such national games as togyzkumalak increase interest in the culture and traditions of the Kazakh people. This is one of the important areas of educational work," said Maksat Serikkhanov, head of the Department of social, educational and psychological work among convicts.
