A bilateral meeting was held in Astana between Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Economy of the Republic of Kazakhstan Serik Zhumangarin and Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan Jamshid Khodjayev. The parties discussed the development of trade and economic cooperation, the growth of mutual trade, and the implementation of the Kazakhstan-Uzbekistan Roadmap.

Serik Zhumangarin thanked the Government of Uzbekistan for its constructive approach and consistent work to implement the agreements reached between the heads of state.

"The visit of Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev to Astana and the 23rd meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission confirmed the solid foundation of our strategic partnership. Today, we have specific agreements and a roadmap for our joint work," noted the Deputy Prime Minister of Kazakhstan.

Trade and economic ties between the two countries continue to grow. In the first seven months of 2026, trade turnover between Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan amounted to $3.25 billion, an increase of 29.8% compared to the same period last year.

The countries are set to reach $10 billion in trade turnover. To achieve this goal, it is important to consistently expand mutual trade and accelerate the implementation of joint projects.

Deputy Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Jamshid Khodjaev, in turn, noted the positive dynamics in the development of relations between the two countries. He emphasized that Kazakhstan is a fraternal country and a reliable partner for Uzbekistan. The two sides are consistently increasing mutual trade and investment, and transportation volumes are growing. Uzbekistan is interested in further developing cooperation with Kazakhstan across a wide range of areas.

The parties agreed to continue working to expand trade and economic cooperation, promote joint investment projects, and implement existing agreements.
