On October 1st, in honor of the Day of Older Persons, a festive dastarkhan (feast) titled «Қарты бар үйдің қазынасы бар» ("A home with an elder is a home with a treasure") was organized in the Bastaushi rural district. This meaningful event was held on the initiative of the rural district administration and cultural workers.

Respected elders and grandmothers of our district were specially invited to the festive gathering, where they were shown special care and respect. From time immemorial, the Kazakh people have given elders the seat of honor, listened to their advice, and received their blessings. The wise saying, "A country with elders has a treasure," also highlights the profound respect due to the older generation.

During the event, a generous spread was offered to the guests, and sincere wishes were expressed to the grandfathers and grandmothers.

The elders shared their blessings (* бата *), imparted wise stories to the younger generation, and shared their life experiences. Warm conversations, heartfelt wishes, and kind words around the dastarkhan further revealed the true essence of the holiday.

Our elderly citizens are the well-being of the country, the pillar of the family, and a priceless treasure guiding the younger generation. Showing respect to them is the duty of each and every one of us.
