Treasures of the Great Steppe will be presented at an exhibition in France

On November 6, 2024, under the patronage of the Heads of State of Kazakhstan and France, the exhibition "Kazakhstan: Treasures of the Great Steppe" from the collection of the National Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the State Historical and Cultural Museum–Reserve "Azret Sultan" will open at the National Museum of Asian Arts - Guimet (Paris).
The exhibition will run until March 24, 2025.
Kazakhstan pays great attention to the development of cultural and humanitarian cooperation with European countries.
One of the important areas of cooperation in this area is the popularization of historical and cultural heritage.
The exhibition of the historical heritage of Kazakhstan at the Museum of Oriental Arts, which has the largest collection of Asian art in Europe, including several cultural artifacts of Kazakhstan, will become a landmark event in the art world.
The purpose of the exhibition is to demonstrate to the European and French public the centuries-old history and rich culture of Kazakhstan, focusing on the continuity and originality of the cultural code of the Kazakh people through immersive accompaniment of museum artifacts.
The exhibition will feature 35 rare artifacts that shed light on key periods of Kazakhstan's history (from the III millennium BC to the XVIII century).
The exposition consists of the following 5 sections:
- Tobolsk Thinker, Botai culture and horse domestication;
- The golden Man. The emergence of the first Saka states;
- Stone statues. Medieval Kazakhstan during the period of Turkic hegemony;
- Lamps from the mausoleum of Khoja Ahmed Yasawi. The development of Islam;
- Chapan Kazybek biya. The Kazakh Khanate and the emergence of modern Kazakhstan.
The opening ceremony will be attended by prominent state political figures of Kazakhstan and France, representatives of the diplomatic corps, culture and art, the scientific and student community, as well as the Kazakh diaspora in Europe.
