From December 4-6, the Kazakh delegation headed by the Minister of Energy Almasadam Satkaliyev was on a working visit to the French Republic.
During the visit, meetings were held with the Minister-Delegate for Foreign Trade and Affairs of French Citizens Abroad, the Minister-Delegate for Energy and the Director of Energy and Climate of France.
The Kazakh delegation held talks with leading organizations of the French nuclear industry, including the largest energy generating company and operator of nuclear power plants EDF, the developer and manufacturer of equipment for the Framatome NPP, as well as the supplier of turbine equipment for the Arabelle Solutions NPP.
In addition, a meeting was held with Assystem, an international consulting company specializing in engineering services, project management and digital solutions for complex infrastructure facilities, including nuclear power plants.
The delegation also visited the crisis center of the Institute of Radiation Protection and Nuclear Safety (IRSN) and a plant for the production of equipment for nuclear power plants.
The French side expressed its readiness to support Kazakhstan in the implementation of the nuclear power plant construction project. France, where nuclear power accounts for about 70% of the electricity generated, is a world leader in this field.
Recall that EDF is included in the shortlist of potential suppliers of nuclear technologies for Kazakhstan.
