The work of the international investment forum "TURKMENISTAN INVESTMENT AND TOURISM FORUM – 2024", held in the tourist capital of the Turkic world, continued at thematic panel sessions "Kazakh-Chinese investment cooperation in the field of processing and industry", "The Year of Chinese Tourism in Kazakhstan – 2025" and "Digital Transformation".
During the meeting, 35 memorandums of cooperation were signed for a total amount of more than 301 billion tenge. Within the framework of this agreement, new projects will be implemented in the region. It should be noted that the forum opens up new opportunities for business and investors and shows the strategic importance of the Turkestan region in international cooperation.
In general, a pool of 145 investment projects has been formed in the Turkestan region, which will be implemented by 2027. It is expected that these projects will create 17 thousand new jobs and will further increase their own income by 100 billion tenge. The region also has 10 industrial zones with an area of 594 hectares and special economic zones with an area of 580 hectares. There are 49 enterprises operating in it. 39 more projects are under construction.
It should be noted that in Turkestan, priority is now given to the production of finished products, using the existing potential of the region. To this end, and to strengthen the work on attracting investments to the region, together with the akimats of districts and cities, business representatives organized business trips to China. As a result, a number of projects were initiated with new technologies of the People's Republic of China and capital from Chinese investors. And the region's economy will receive about 1.2 trillion tenge for investments. Among the major projects are the creation of a textile cluster, the construction of a solar and wind power plant.
Today's international forum has become an official continuation of these visits and an important platform for dialogue between government and business. Thanks to the agreements of the forum, important projects in various directions will be implemented in the Turkestan region, and production capacities will increase.
