Akim of Astana Zhenis Kasymbek wrote on his Instagram page about the conditions being created to make life more comfortable for people with special needs, the official website of the capital's akimat reports.
"I regularly meet with people with special needs and representatives of public associations. Together, we create conditions for people with disabilities. During the meeting, issues such as invataxi, medical care, ramps, infrastructure, etc. were discussed.
An important issue is invataxi. Every year we increase the number of special equipment and the volume of purchases of services. Similarly, this year we will increase the amount allocated for the separate purchase of technical equipment (OTK) necessary for rehabilitation.
We also plan to put three more student palaces into operation this year. All of them will have swimming pools. Children with special needs can also visit these social facilities.
Last year, during road works, 150 ramps for wheelchairs were installed, as well as ramps were installed on the underground pedestrian crossing along Turan Avenue (opposite the Khan Shatyr Secondary Educational Institution), and the above-ground pedestrian crossing along Barayev and other streets was equipped with an elevator.
All this work will continue in the future. The issues raised at the meeting were also taken into account, - wrote Zhenis Kasymbek.
