The Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Kazakhstan presented modern digital initiatives in the field of defense and security at the VII International Digital Almaty 2025 Forum, which opened in Almaty under the slogan "Industrial AI: Technologies of a New Era".
One of the main projects presented at the forum was the "Military Conscription 2.0" system for automating military accounting. It allows you to increase the transparency of work with conscripts, optimize mobilization readiness and simplify citizens' access to the necessary information. The system automatically analyzes data, identifies categories of conscripts, sends SMS messages and recommends which types of troops to send conscripts to.
— Unlike previous years, Digital Almaty 2025 is specifically focused on solutions using artificial intelligence. In this regard, both our report and the presented stand are dedicated to digital innovations in the field of defense. Artificial intelligence is already actively used not only in the framework of the conscription campaign and propaganda work, but also in the digital transformation of the everyday life of military personnel. This will help automate daily processes, simplifying the performance of a number of tasks, Darkhan Akhmediev noted.
Special attention will be paid to the development of defense technology, aimed at introducing advanced technologies into the defense industry. This includes hackathons, roundtables, strategic sessions, and acceleration programs. In 2023, the Defence Tech office was opened in Astana Hub, and in the near future it is planned to open a representative office in Almaty at the Officers' House, which will allow more active involvement of technology companies in defense innovations.
Also, the forum will feature a stand of the Development Institute, the Defense Technology Center, which supports the development of innovations in the armaments sector and the introduction of technologies in Kazakhstan.
The development of digital solutions in the defense sector demonstrates the Ministry of Defense's desire to introduce advanced technologies that ensure a high level of security and defense capability of the country in the new digital era.
