The fashion show "Bridge of Time" dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan was held in the capital's Friendship House, the official website of the Astana akimat reports.
The event was organized by the Dungan ethno-cultural center "Yunchi".
The collection presented by designer, member of the Mothers' Council Rabiya Idyrova showed a combination of history and modernity.
The podium featured both modern dresses inspired by the centuries-old culture of the Dungan people and traditional wedding attire.
The chairwoman of the "Yunchi" ethno-cultural center Zulfiya Mukhanzayeva noted the importance of this event for the preservation and development of Dungan culture in Kazakhstan.
"Today's show is not just a fashion show, it is a symbol of continuity that connects the past, present and future. We are trying to preserve the culture and traditions that our ancestors passed down to us and pass them on to our children. Thanks to the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan, we have shown it to other ethnic groups in the country,” said Zulfiya Mukhanzayeva.
The Chairman of the Republican Ethnocultural Center of the Dungans of Kazakhstan Zainuddin Makhuseev emphasized the importance of the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan for preserving the ethnic identity and cultural diversity of the country.
“For us, the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan is not just a body, it is an institution that allows each ethnic group to preserve its customs, traditions, culture, and language. We are proud that our culture, like the culture of other nations, has the opportunity to develop and be heard equally in our country. This event will not only introduce the Dungan tradition, but also strengthen the spirit of unity and harmony,” said Zainuddin Makhuseev.
The Director of the Capital House of Friendship, Nural Aidashev, congratulated the organizers and those present on such a significant event, noting that such events contribute to strengthening ties and unity between ethnic groups.
“We all understand how important such events are. Kazakhstan is a country where cultures and traditions intersect. We are proud to support events that demonstrate not only beauty and diversity, but also the importance of cultural exchange. Today's show is a step towards strengthening cultural ties not only between different ethnic groups in Kazakhstan, but also with other nations. We see how Dungan culture is finding its place in modern Kazakhstan,” said Nural Aidashev.
The catwalk not only embodied ancient traditions, but also opened up a new perspective on fashion, where the past and the future intersect on one channel.
