The 9th Winter Asian Games will be held in the Chinese city of Harbin and the Yabuli ski resort from February 7 to 14, 2025. A record 34 countries are expected to participate in this prestigious sports competition. During the competition, 64 sets of medals in 11 disciplines will be up for grabs, the official website of the capital's akimat reports.

137 athletes from the Kazakh national team will participate in the Winter Asian Games in Harbin. Our compatriots will compete in 10 disciplines in 6 sports and will compete for 51 sets of medals.

37 athletes from Astana in 5 sports (speed skating, short track speed skating, figure skating, ice hockey (men and women), curling) will defend the honor of the country. Among them, the flag of our country will be carried by Adil Beketayev, a master of sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan in hockey from Astana.

It should be noted that Harbin is hosting this prestigious competition for the second time. Previously, it was the host of the competition in 1996. At that time, Kazakhstan participated in the competition for the first time.
